We offer an integrated service based on the requirements of national and international building regulations, CE marking
and third-party assessments
. Our facilities can provide independent UKAS accredited testing services for a range of fasteners and connections used within the building and timber construction industry, including:
- joist hangers
- punched metal plates.
The work is carried out by our highly experienced engineers and technicians in our UKAS accredited laboratories following internationally recognised standards. We can also implement bespoke testing methods for particular end uses where no assessment guidance exists. We always work closely with our clients and sister companies to deliver the service.
Our service includes third-party assessment, initial type-testing (ITT), CE marking and site surveys and covers the following:
- laboratory testing in accordance with:
- consultancy/design analysis/training in accordance with EN 1995-1-1 (EC5)
- software toolbox design programmes.
Adhesives are also commonly used as a means of forming joints in timber as well as for bonding composite products such as particleboard and structural beams such as glulam and I-joists. We can test bond quality to a range of methods relating to these products, as well as to EN 301/EN 302, which covers testing of the adhesives themselves.
We can also carry out on-site/off-site witness and site surveys
of the use of fasteners/connections using our engineers and technical consultants' expertise.
