Cladding is the application of one material over another to provide a skin or layer that is intended either, to control the infiltration of weather elements, or for aesthetic purposes. Cladding is a control element and does not necessarily provide water-proofing. It may serve to safely direct water or wind to control runoff and prevent infiltration into the building structure.
Independent Q-Mark certification enables the manufacturer to demonstrate that it has been manufactured under a quality management system and achieves a consistent standard of performance.
Support for the certification of cladding is provided by our technical experts who have extensive knowledge of building regulations, the construction industry, Construction Products Regulation and British, European and international standards.
Our status as a UKAS-accredited body reflects our competence and impartiality and we pride ourselves on staying up-to-date with the constantly changing construction sector - new methods, materials and products.
