Building regulations require that many performance critical products used in the built environment are fully tested before they are placed onto the market.

Other legislation requires that once installed, products are properly maintained to ensure they remain fit for purpose. In addition, most contractors require their supply chains to hold management systems certification to ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 as a minimum requirement.
