Expert advice from BM TRADA at Homes 2014

Posted on 17/11/2014

BM TRADA will be offering expert advice on issues ranging from the testing, installation and maintenance of doors and windows to undertaking structural timber and condition surveys at Homes 2014, taking place at London Olympia on 26-27 November.

From its stand (H29), BM TRADA will be providing advice for anyone with asset and facilities management responsibility or involved in the repair and refurbishment of housing, both in the public and private sectors.

Explaining the importance of specifying third party certified products and service providers for performance-critical construction products, BM TRADA will be showcasing its range of product, installation and maintenance certification schemes.

Also on the stand will be full scale demonstration models of a fire door that has been exposed to a fire resistance test; an enhanced security window which has been subjected to a PAS 24: 2012 security test; a model of a timber frame building; and samples of timbers which exhibit some of the typical problems found in existing properties.

BM TRADA is fully accredited by UKAS and offers testing, inspection and certification of fire, security and timber products. It is an accepted certification and testing body for Secured by Design and offers testing and certification of enhanced security windows and doors; fire doors; and timber frame elements.

BM TRADA Q-Mark certification schemes are designed to help ensure consistency in the on-going quality of performance critical construction products and the competency of those involved in their installation and maintenance.
