The Supplier Ethical Data Exchange (Sedex) is a not-for-profit membership organisation that works with buyers and suppliers to deliver improvements in ethical trading practices in global supply chains.

SMETA (ethical trading audit) was developed for Sedex members but it is not exclusive to them - any organization can request an audit. A SMETA audit will enable you to demonstrate your ethical behaviors in a structured way which will assist you in managing this, improve working practices for staff and gives reassurance to new and existing customers as well as safeguarding your business relationships.

BM TRADA's approach to SMETA audits:

  1. Audit services - Our auditors are experienced and knowledgeable in labor law and are therefore able to help identify areas where policy or practice may conflict with these and deliver a full, detailed and beneficial audit
  2.  Training - Training experts can offer courses on the requirements of SMETA so that you can know how to adopt best practice
